Turks Cap lilies grow to twelve feet or more and can have up to twenty of the fist sized blooms on a single stem. These beautiful red orange flowers love damp creek edges and are among the most dramatic of native wildflowers. They are often visited by butterflies and hummingbirds. Unfortunately the best patch I knew of was under a power line and the power company keeps cutting them along with all the other 'weeds'.
